Cowes Business Association Site

Cowes Business Association supports, encourages and promotes businesses across Cowes, East Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard on the Isle of Wight.

I was asked by the Cowes Business Association to build their WordPress website – the website in its current state went live in 2021. There will be regular updates and enhancements in the next three to four months to enhance the members area, shop and members/user experience.

Noonsite: UX design

Noonsite is a World Cruising Club website that is known as the ultimate cruisers planning tool amongst the sailing fraternity.

The original website was developed in 2001 and was full of useful data regarding ports all around the world. However it was difficult to find the information, was challenging to navigate, and design-wise, very basic.

Essentially the new website needed to be a responsive mobile-first design, that was simple to navigate and be quick to load – as the site visitor would more than likely be sailing when using it.

It was also necessary to take ‘on-board’ the social aspects of sailing, how we now use social media to build a user database that could benefit from tailored advertising, companionships, and local information regarding places they are visiting etc. Users could also contribute stories from around the world or alert other users to unknown hazards or news stories.
